Having Jessica Wild as our doula was one of the best decisions we ever made. As a first time father, I wanted to help my partner through her labor and birth, but honestly, what was I really going to do? How was I supposed to coach and support her when I didn’t have a clue about labor and birth? I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know what was normal. I am an OB/GYN in the East Phoenix/Mesa Metro Area and I have worked with Jessica Wild for over 2 years now. We have worked at many births together and I look forward to all births we will do together. Jessica is a wealth of knowledge to her Doula Clients and ChildBirth Education Class students. All of her clients that I deliver come into the delivery room very ready for the labor and birthing process. We met Jessica through our doctor by attending her birthing class. This was our first child and we thought we knew what we were doing….let me just say we weren’t even close! The classes offered so much information that dispelled so many half truths and rumors, as well as gave us the confidence to make so otherwise tough birth decisions. We really thought we could deliver naturally by ourselves, but towards the end decided to hire Jessica to be our Doula as well. She was amazing!
In fact, we most likely couldn’t have done it without her. That is a strong statement, but we had a “perfect” birth. 8 hours of labor, 20 minutes of pushing and a perfectly healthy baby without so much as an IV. No drugs, no episiotomy, no interventions whatsoever. Jessica Wild, what an amazing person you are! I feel like you can read my mind. During the birth, I would start to make a suggestion and you were already in the processes of implementing the very thing I was thinking.
Your energy and obvious care for birthing women shines through and you have a generous amount of the thing a laboring women needs the most: compassion!
You seem to generate an energy that helps keep the mother calm and yet you are able to give them the drive it takes when they feel they have nothing left to give.
At our last birth together, your words of comfort whispered between contractions helped “T.” to know that she was not alone and that you wouldn’t leave her side. She expressed a feeling of fear at the end of the labor that had been nagging at her: the fear of being a mother for the first time. The words tumbled out as if she was unable to hold them in any longer.
You sweetly assured her that she was not alone in this fear, that every woman since the beginning of time has felt that exact fear when faced with the daunting task God has given mothers. Your council that she would be the perfect mother for this baby calmed her and gave her the will to bring her baby into the world. What a powerful advocate you are!

Jessica Wild was my birth coach at my last birth, April 12, 2003. She was the first to arrive and stayed with me through the whole process. She was extremely beneficial. She helped to keep me calm and focused. She was knowledgeable about aromatherapy, which helped tremendously with pain and emotions. She was quick to assist in anything I asked. She was also focused and professional. I greatly appreciated all she did for me. Even in the event of a crisis with the baby after she was born, Jessica calmly called 911 and was able to help us through that with her support. She was intuitive and connected. We hired Jessica as our doula early in our pregnancy. As the father-to-be, I was not very privy on the information that had to do with using a doula.
After our first few visits with Jessica, I was much more at ease about the birth. Throughout the pregnancy, Jessica met with us and gave us advice for “new” parents. When the time came, Jessica was readily available, and met us at the hospital.
Because of the situation of the birth, Jessica’s main “doula” (drug free pain management) responsibilities were not really needed. BUT, as a new father-to-be, I didn’t know what really was going on and could look to Jessica for an explanation, and clarification as to whether or not we might want to use the interventions that the doctor was proposing. Jessica was a huge help for me. She helped to comfort me so that I could have a clear head about what was going on. I recommend her to anyone who is about to be parents. Besides the “business” environment, Jessica is very easy to talk with, and I feel she has become a great friend and confidant.

Jessica Wild is truly a Doula Extraordinaire!
As soon as Jessica walked in to my home, I knew I had chosen the right doula!
As soon as I called her…she came! She walked in during the early hours of the morning alert, cheerful and saying “Good Morning! Let’s have a baby today!”
That was the most wonderful sound to me!
Jessica immediately started applying pressure to all of the right spots on my body, talking me gently through contractions; letting me know how good I was doing; reminding me to relax and making sure I was comfortable.

It was very easy to put my faith in Jessica during labor. More than once, she anticipated my needs before I could even voice them.
Jessica’s voice is one of her greatest assets. She was able to quietly, yet powerfully cut through all of the other noises of labor and talk me through what needed to be done, all the while reassuring me that everything was fine, telling me what a good job I was doing and letting me know when to push and when NOT to push.
I distinctly remember hearing Jessica’s voice reminding me gently to relax during contractions and trust my body to do this magnificent work.
After our baby was born, Jessica stayed and made sure that we were comfortable with breastfeeding.
While I was being stitched up, Jessica’s powerful voice distracted me away from the pain of the stitching and focused me on other things so I could get through that unpleasant few moments.
Jessica is always willing to go the extra mile. She is still offering me support as a mother, and my baby is six months old!!!
I HIGHLY recommend Jessica to any birthing women. I look forward to having her assist with every one of my future pregnancies and deliveries!

It’s hard to describe how I feel about what you’ve done and what you’ve meant to us throughout my pregnancy and Kenlie’s birth. I never would have dreamt that one person’s support and encouragement could possibly have made such a difference. Kenlie’s birth became very medically managed (of necessisity) and interventions were needed to be done that I was not planning on. However, all I had to do was look at you and somehow I knew everything would work out the way it was supposed to. And soon enough I knew would be holding my beautiful daughter. I STILL chuckle every time I think about this couple…
I went to check on them the morning after their c-section at the hospital, and both dad and mom said:
“Are you going to be doing this for a while?”
I assured them that I planned on being a Doula for the rest of my life.
They then replied “Good! We would like to book you for our next birth, though we are not quite sure of the due date yet!”
Here we are still in the hospital after the first one! ? I knew then and there that I was doing okay at this “Doula-ing”!
